I’d say it’s rare, given the number of people who are surprised by my stutter, but holy fuck, I’ve met a lot of people who stutter myself. Both my parents stuttered, and neither of them stutters anymore; however, it slips out when they’re agitated or excited—mainly repetitions, not blocks. My ex-girlfriend had a stutter, my uncle stutters, and I had several friends during my time in school who also had stutters.
