I understand what you are Saying i am also going in the same approach, another thing i would like to add to your description is how we react to our own stutter if i don't immediately react negatively and accept it for what it is even if i stutter that's progress for me, In the long run this would be more healthy approach Also I have been reading Speech is a river by ruth mead and it's a fantastic book and a must read for every Stutter, she suggest writing about the observations about stutter can make a huge difference, she gives credit to her fluency to free writing, in the book she also says as happy is abi product of something else it can't be directly achieved in a similar way fluency is a bi product which can't be directly achieved by just chasing fluency
