I just turned 40 and actually was living in Japan for almost a decade (just moved to Europe last year), and I gotta say, whenever I speak Japanese I do not stutter at all. I think its cause that language almost doesn't have many cases of syllables with double consonants. I speak 4 languages and English is the one I stutter the most with. I continuously have to find substitute words for "tr" (as in "try" or "structure"), "cr", etc. I've also accepted my condition, at this point there's nothing that can be done if not trying to limit it. It's depressing though, cause even during work meetings, sometimes I really have brilliant ideas that I would like to discuss and present to others but I refrain myself from talking as I don't want to embarass myself. The sad thing about stuttering is that its going to limit your career advancement as you'll not be able to get into mid to high management with such speech impairment.
