Something I've been noticing for years...sugar Hi all. Longtime lurker first time poster! A little about me: I'm 25 and have had a mild stutter my entire life. I would say my stutter is maybe a 5/10, I'm able to get full sentences out but certain situations like meeting someone new, ordering food, and giving presentations terrify me. I actually chose to fail a comm class in college just because I didn't want to speak :( I just landed my first job in IT (I'll share some posts later on that), been reading all your lovely stories on here for about a year maybe. Seems like a good group of people! Anyways so I've noticed that sugar intake plays a big part in when it is triggered. Most days at my new job I'll stick to water. But some days I'll have a cup of tea or sugar and within 10-15 minutes of consumption I start to stutter a little more. I'm now thinking it's a chemical in balance caused by the brain not being able to keep up with my sugar filled body. Try experimenting with it though and see what happens. Maybe I'll start dropping sugar from everything!
