I don’t work in IT, but at my bank teller job I often have to help people and answer questions over the phone. The hardest part of learning how to do it was to learn how to say the “opening lines” that most help desk jobs require you to say. After getting that down (4 months later) my rule of thumb is just to take my time when saying things to customers and try to relieve as much pressure on my end as I can
