Good! Know that you're not alone. I think that all of us have experienced what you are experiencing. There is help available. I wanted to add - You mentioned that you will be seeing a speech therapist soon. Good! If you're in the US, it might be helpful to check if the speech therapist you're going to be seeing is a board certified stuttering specialist. Stuttering is quite an interesting disorder, and focused training in it may help the speech therapist be better able to help. You can get a list of board-certified stuttering specialists at the website of the American Board of Stuttering, Cluttering, and Fluency Disorders. (Someone who isn't board-certified may also be very good, so don't be disappointed if they're not certified.) It might be helpful to check out info about stuttering at the websites of the Stuttering Foundation and the National Stuttering Association (in the US). (Many countries have stuttering associations, so go to what is most familiar to you.) I stuttered severely. My blocks were at least a minute long. I saw a board-certified stuttering specialist when I was in my early 20s. It was extremely helpful! I still stutter, but it is much less of an obstacle than it used to be.
