I wish I had advice for you, unfortunately I don’t, but I just wanted to say I’m in the same boat and 100% know exactly how you feel. I have an MA and have been looking for jobs in professional fields for about a year and a half, also been through some second round interviews and almost been hired, but have always been beaten out. One case was super similar to what you described—I had an interview that went so well that my job recruiter called me on my commute home and told me to send in hiring documents before the weekend because they’d talked to the employer and everyone was positive I’d gotten the job; then on Monday, I got an email that the employer had decided to go with “someone less experienced.” I’ve also had similar challenges in interviews and really feel like I can’t express myself or answer questions the way I’d want to because of my stutter, or am not able to say key vocabulary that I absolutely need to because I block on a word. I always worry afterwards that the interviewer thinks I’m stupid because I couldn’t say a specific word, and then I feel stupid. I’m working in restaurants until I finally land a career-type job, and the grind is wearing me down. I’m sending you good vibes and best wishes, I hope we both get the jobs we want and deserve soon! 💕
