Finally something I can comment on! I just went to New York alone for an honors band. Just be yourself and you'll be absolutely fine. I have a moderate to severe stutter and I was still able to make a lot of new friends. This was just myself as well. I had to order at restaurants by myself as well. You'll do great, don't stress about your speech and just enjoy yourself. It's quite the place!
