I heard from an SLP in norway that they had to pretend to have a stutter while out on restaurants etc, to get a small glimpse of how it affects your life. I think that's great. Obviously it's okay for SLPs to imitate stuttering in the setting you describe, i wouldn't be treated by an SLP who hadn't even tried to get a small sense of how it feels, physically or emotionally.
