>*"Stuttering onset due to trauma from being mauled by a dog at age 3. Master's in engineering.* ***Philosophy:*** *The brain is lazy and will default to old patterns. Speech is a skill, not a personality trait. Fail with confidence until you reach competence. You build brain power by working on the mechanics. Stuttering is a deeply ingrained motor pattern reinforced by stress and emotion. Retrain the brain through intense and regular practice. Dislikes the mindset of "just accept it" without action. Opposes word substitution or hiding techniques, as they reinforce negative patterns.* ***Speech therapy:*** *Mixed feelings. Prefers self-directed learning via books and AI.* ***Preferred methods:*** *Daily speech workouts, exaggerated articulation, vowel pre-shaping, using AI tools (e.g., GPT, Character.AI), breath coordination, and “the clench” technique from William Parry’s methods. Nasal humming, and relaxed vocal onset to bypass blocks."* You said: *"Have bought and read several books on this rewiring already"* Great comment! I'm really interested in learning more about the rewiring tips that were helpful to you. basically, reading books can takes many weeks/months so it's faster to simply ask what you'd learned yourself. I'd like to learn from you and improve my stuttering.
