Similar situation here in that my childhood stutter is essentially gone except when introducing myself. Having recently started a new job, the nerves/pressure are bringing it out a lot these last few weeks. And it's only when saying my name when I'm asked. I hear you 100% and can relate to everything you describe (I can't seem to find a workaround having tried everything). Buy remember that (a) most people won't think any different of someone with a stutter and (b) people usually actually forget their first impression and build up a more lasting impression as they get to know you.
