It could get better with time. The goal is to **try not to try.** These days I do some activities just for the purpose of honing my spontaneous/intuitive abilities. A good example is writing a journal everyday, where I just write whatever that comes into my brain at the moment without any regulation. If you have a close friend/family that you're comfortable to share anything, then you can try freely express your thoughts & prolonging the conversation back-and-forth.
