On the girls front, you miss every shot you don’t take. Or as Shia Would say... just do it. Get out there and see what happens. I struggled with girls through my teens. Around 17 I decided I would get a girlfriend. I made it a goal to talk to at least one girl each day. Just making friends and being friendly. Step 1 was about reducing awkwardness. As I got to know some girls better I asked one out and yeah.. turns out it isn’t all that difficult after all. The most important milestone for me around your age was to realise stuttering doesn’t matter. It is annoying and humiliating sometimes but no one really cares. People have their own problems, they don’t really care about your stutter. Some people may take the piss but on the whole these people are few and far between. Generally speaking such people won’t amount to anything and they pick on everyone, it isn’t about you or your stutter, it is about their unfulfilled life. I would ask people for the time in the street and watch their reaction. I would order stuff in shops. I would phone a company and ask them when they closed. Some people didn’t stop... they were busy.. some people hung up on me.. they thought I was a crank call haha. 95% of interactions were incredibly positive and really helped me gain confidence and really get past my own limitations.
