Everyone has it so different in the ways they deal with it, and levels of severity of the stutter, so it makes sense to add severity levels. That way it is easier to people who are not familar with stuttering and to identify other people who stutter with a greater level of accuracy of their type of stutter. It can definitely be a pain in the ass with having a severe stutter byt at the same time, its also very rewarding doing tasks many find to be trival.
