The fun part about IT is that it's full of people with odd quirks. If you're life is 'perfect' you wouldn't really fit in! And everyone you work with is carrying around some sort of hidden problem. You are worried about your fluency, someone else in your company is worried about their romantic life, another thinks they are unworthy, another is battling addictions, another thinks their happiness is held back by unresolved childhood trauma... the list is endless. In my long IT career I once worked in investment banking alongside extremely wealthy traders and bankers. These people had trophy wives, yachts, multiple houses and all of that stuff we associate with 'happiness'. And most of them were miserable - horrible marriages, drug addictions, kids who hate them, backstabbing associates. Really horrible stuff. We need to be careful about mixing up 'happiness' with 'pleasure'. There are literally billions of people on this planet who dream of achieving what you've achieved. Dig into it.
