Techniques typically make the stutter worse, not better, as you are concentrating more on your fluency. This makes you more anxious and stressed, which makes you stutter more, which makes you stressed and anxious, etc. Ironically, accepting that you stutter and that it happens is the key to overcoming it. I’m not sure how to teach a child to just accept it, but talk it over with the speech therapist. Maybe she knows how
