> I want to be outgoing -> easier to make more friends. Can't bc of my speech. Not accurate. Plenty of stutterers are outgoing and have a lot of friends, in many different cultures. You need to be your own advocate. You need to tell people, "I stutter. Here's what it sounds like. It's just a quirk in how my brain communicates with my body." People are more understanding than we give them credit for. Many bad reactions stuttering are born out of ignorance and confusion. They don't understand what's happening. And how could they, since we hide our real voices and try our best to never stutter?
