My Poetry Class

My Poetry Class I don't know when my stutter developed, though I think it developed later, since I only really started noticing it in college. (My parents would be no help, as they don't like to talk about anything like this.) My poetry class is when I felt the most self-conscious about it. Sometimes the stutter would be totally absent when I'd be called on to read the poem, sometimes I'd fumble through the entire thing. After getting through most of a very long poem, which had a lot of deliberately odd syntax, I apologized and said I couldn't finish the whole thing, and spoke to the teacher after class as she'd made some sort of remark. She said she'd never noticed a stutter before. The place where I'd been noticing it the most, and apparently I was being overly self-conscious.
