I am a mechanical engineering major and actually started the first public speaking club at my University. It was hard at first and my stutter was quite the hindrance but the more I spoke, the more I interacted with others the easier it became. The stutter didn't go away, but instead, I was able to use my stutter to my advantage when speaking to amplify the message I'm trying to get across. In engineering we also have design projects and presentations so at times my stutter would be debilitating, however, it became easier and now I enjoy speaking publicly despite the stutter that comes with it. If you have any questions, I'm more than happy to try and answer them. :)
