I haven’t watched TLJ yet, and didn’t know there’s a stuttering character in it that is portrayed in a positive light. That’s super good news that we’ve finally got some representation that doesn’t falsely paint people who stutter as shy, meek, bad communicators, psychologically disturbed, and/or lacking confidence. That kind of common negative representation of us is why it’s always been difficult for me to watch any show or movie with a stuttering character...it just made me angry. Even The King’s Speech got it wrong by suggesting King George stuttered due to psychological issues. So I’m totally excited to see TLJ now...I’ll be putting it at the top of my bucket list queue.
