Does anyone else go from the fringe member in the group that is 'tolerated' to the leader of the group just by drinking enough alcohol?

Does anyone else go from the fringe member in the group that is 'tolerated' to the leader of the group just by drinking enough alcohol? This has been my experience in so many different times of my life, and I don't think its just me who has experienced this.
