Forcing myself to stutter when I block on a letter or a word.
Content
Forcing myself to stutter when I block on a letter or a word. My speech therapist said that when I block on certain letters or words, instead of forcing them out I should focus on making myself stutter, for example if I'm saying my name, instead of forcing out the word "Sam" I should instead try to make the "S" sound and repeat that sound until the word flows, so it comes out as "S-S-S-Sam." It's difficult to remind myself to do that but I'm trying. Has anyone else been told this or found that it helps?
