No, no it is not. Last time I checked no one envied or complimented me for it. Does it dictate your value as a person? Also no. Can it humble you a little and make you more empathetic? Maybe. Will it likely impact your life negatively? Most likely. This is clearly one of those 'You're not different, you're just as cool as others!' kind of ways of coping that maybe works on preschoolers. I think for adults who immediately know this isn't true more honest approaches are better suited.
