I often struggled with reading. You can speak to your teacher about it, discuss what you want to do. You could ask not to have to speak in class at all, or to read the shorter parts, etc. My geography teacher used to love "creeping death", calling on the students in order to read. I hated that, is I asked if he could just call on me randomly instead. He did, although he didn't quite get the random bit. I know that whatever was the shortest paragraph, that's when he'd shake up the order and call on me lol.
