There are many theories about stuttering, but I believe they are still incomplete.. in other words, somewhat invalid or incorrect?! I mean, let's assume for a second that, in people who stutter.. their programming (the software) to execute speech plans is actually correct. Let's assume that our neurology is correct, in the sense of, that our neurology is at least correct enough that a lack of white matter doesn't cause a 1 second execution difficulty type speech block. This is all hypothetical.. in this hypothetical scenario, we assume that bad neurology could cause bad speech formulation (or slow speech or whatnot): speech planning difficulty type stuttering. This can be backed up by the fact that we should know how to say our name. We do actually know how to say our own name correctly. That's definitely not the problem I think. The programming to execute these motor programs is just intact, it's perfect or good enough. If this is all true. Then what does actually cause the execution difficulty type stutter? So in this hypothetical example/scenario, what is actually the problem that results in having difficulty executing speech plans? I mean what do you think?
