(Disclaimer I'm not here for SLP's this is a stutter for stutter reply) Firstly I reccomend THC/Cannabis be acquired from medical facilities only. Street weed is not trustworthy these days and in some states recreational products have lower quality standards. Find medically tested products wherever possible. No doctor prescribing cannabis will reccomend combustion or dabbing and there are dry herb vapes out there for flower in addition to non-smoking products containing medical thc. As someone who has Stuttered 33yrs and smoked 15. if this works and you aren't a frequent smoker (am not a dr but depending on your state you wont need a dr) you may want to try micro dosing THC or 1:1 thc. They make little chewable that are 2.5mg and you can see if it gets you to fluent without needing to be high. My stutter is likely genetic and could be a fairly benign malformation in my speech center. Endocannabinoid system does a lot for the brain and body. More than thuhhhh cattttt satttt repetition ever did. There is a lot of research out there (check it out) but complex info boils down to helps some people doesn't help others. Not everyone likes being high but thc doesn't have to get you high for it to work and medical products allow you to dose as low as 0.25mg thc (2.5 and 5 are the most common micro doses but depends heavily on tolerance purpose and availability. Cbd doesn't really cause a high but first use I took 5mg once daily for a month and stopped a lifelong nailbiting habit with intention and no other intervention it was great. Again I am not a dr but a stuttering smoker. Another old timer smoker I know has a worse stutter than me. Life is hard and dude also drinks like a fish but he said he only started smoking so early because it made such a diff. If only medical use and medical dosing were avail to him. Just wanted to post that you dont need to have a weed lifestyle or even get stoned to try thc for your condition. It's also not an all the time fix for everyone. If you need to work and micro dose does noticibly effect your coordination obvi won't want to use it every day all day. I struggle with c d t b tt dd and s as far as particular speech blocks. Therapy did not work and negatively impacted my life to this day (please not reply to me with SLP tips or en encouragement to SLP I'm here for my peers I have been there done that. SLP did not work for me except to teach me to force myself to speak against the odds because SLP wasn't adequate as a child or as an adult and speech easy was garbage imo) I think it lets me avoid whatever mental/linguistic block I am approaching by not looking for the block. My brain looks for blocks before they happen to change words or tone. I speak more naturally without being so tense about the next sentence. Meanwhile speech easy which did not work aimed to make me catch up to myself. It didnt give me a chance to scoot around the block it's like I would get through the word and speech-easy would leave me at a standstill. The old timer said he just thinks too fast. This is similar for some people with anxiety. It def makes some people more anxious and can increase heartrate in some. But it's like I'm not so hypervigilant and in a backwards way I can get started on tasks I anxiously avoid thanks to the relief I get from THC. I am not a dr and this is not for everyone but hopefully sharing is allowed.
