"I think it’s preferable to focus on techniques to avoid getting to the point of needing to return to beginning of a word." I agree that we should focus on a technique, tool or strategy to unblock. But I disagree that we should apply a technique specifically for stopping repetitions, because we can change this incorrect response ourselves by choosing to block instead of doing repetitions. I mean specifically, when we are stuck, we can choose to deal with the block instead of going all the way back to the first letter as a ritual (secondary behavior). So in my opinion, we don't need a technique to stop a repetition, however I believe we need a technique to unblock a block.
