Adult onset stutter? Tl;Dr Anyone else develop a stutter as an adult? Hiya! I've recently developed a stutter for which I've never had before. Last week, I started going to counseling to hammer out some issues that happened to me in the past. During the counseling session, I started to get real anxious and stressed and I started to stutter. I've always had some social anxiety, but it's never manifested itself like this. I assumed I it was just my nerves that caused the stuttering, but it hasn't gone away. It seems to be worse when I'm talking to strangers (like the checkout person at a restaurant or something). So that kind of lines up with my social anxiety theory. I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced this or has at least heard about it being a thing. I've only heard that people develop a stutter early in life or after some physical trauma. Sorry if that is an ignorant thought, but this is all new to me. Thanks for reading, I appreciate your time.
