Advice for 5 year old Hi there. My son (5.5 years old) is a [great] kid who happens to stutter. I’m new to learning about it but I want to support him as much as possible. Our speech language pathologist has acknowledged the fluency work we were doing for the past two years is not working. She’s currently evaluating other options so we’re on pause for treatment for a month or so. His stutter is inconsistent, as in sometimes it seems tension related, other times it’s a ‘classic’ stutter. It’s exasperated by excitement, lack of sleep, etc. The past month, it’s gotten incredibly worse now that he’s in kindergarten and people are commenting that they can’t understand him. What are some recommendations, suggestions, advice?
