People's favor that I never asked for

People's favor that I never asked for Hi, Reddit community, Today, I wanted to share a recent experience I had with two job interviews, let's call them AAA and BBB. I'm thrilled to have been selected by AAA for a Software Developer role, but my encounter with BBB left me with mixed feelings. After securing an offer from AAA, I reached out to the senior HR at BBB to expedite the process, considering another opportunity on the table. Unexpectedly, this led to a conversation with BBB's HR, who expressed concerns about my communication skills, citing my speech. The HR mentioned, "I do not know your technical skills, but in the 15-minute conversation I found that you lack communication skills". She was saying that they were considering me for a second round as a "favor." She emphasized furthermore the company's size, and international projects, and implied that waiting for their decision was in my best interest. It's disheartening to hear that my speech impediment might be influencing perceptions about my capabilities. I believe in the value of assessing both technical skills and soft skills in the hiring process. But I never asked them to do any kind of favor on me. If you think I am unqualified, reject me. On a positive note, my technical skills speak for themselves, and given the right resources, I can create solutions that can even replace certain HR functions. Has anyone else faced a similar situation? How did you navigate through such challenges in the professional realm? Please, I am waiting for your thoughts or anything you want to share.
