I’m assuming you live in a more socially tolerable country, but I and many others live in America where people treat you like you’re stupid if you have any form of disability. Things have gotten better recently, but it’s in no way easy to “brush off” hateful assumptions and comments. You said it’s a visible disability, but it’s not??? There’s no physical crutch, wheelchair, anything that visibly differentiates us from others besides our speech. Luckily, the younger generation (again from my experience) is a lot more chill. Yes I’ve gotten comments, but as soon as I say I can’t help it, they apologize sincerely. Maybe this post is from your perspective and your experience but please don’t try speaking for all of us with this mentality. It IS difficult to live with, and no it’s not the worst thing to live with. But that doesn’t give you the right to invalidate other people’s experiences and feelings about it. We all acknowledge it and come to terms with it at different paces and we all have different stutters! I really hope you take these comments into account next time
