Alright guys, a lot of good and varied answers here. Now to let you know where I'm going with this: Of course there's more to stuttering than the physical aspect. There's a huge mental element to it that we all seem to neglect at certain times. Something I've observed from being on the subreddit for quite a while: At different times we've rejected information that cater to our mental health & wellbeing. I'll see posts where people are genuinely happy to share their success stories through, most of the time, a shift in mindset or other mental work. They'll share a tip that's worked for them, only to be berated for sharing a positive insight. Seriously, it's nauseating to see. The number of times people will respond "Bullshit, doesn't work, I tried for a day and it doesn't work" or "Go see a speech therapist they'll correct you" is staggering. Without even giving it a thought, these people are being shot down and feel discouraged from sharing in the future. So, what's with this blatant rejection?? I'm asking this because I want to share more information on this subreddit regarding positive mental health and healthy habits. Want to gauge who would actually be receptive to it.
