Any left-handed stutterers out there? I know that's a rather specific demographic. I'm asking not because I have a specific question I just wonder if they exist. I probably should start at the beginning. I was talking to my mom recently and she told me how she trained my to use my right hand when I was a toddler. She noticed my left handiness and since most tools and machines are designed for right-handed people she thought it would beneficial for me to become a right handed person. She would punish me for using my left hand and reward for using my right hand. According to her I was a "very dedicated left-hander" and she got so desperate that she resorted to tying my left hand to my torso so I would play, eat and do other activities with my right hand. It happened when I was around two or three and my earliest memories are from around age four or five. I didn't know my natural born left handiness until yesterday. The reason I'm posting here because I read a theory l that suggested that stuttering is a result of a left handed person being forced or choosing to become a right-handed person. Stutter, according to that theory, is a miscommunication between left and right hemispheres of the brain, and switching your dominant hand somehow disrupts the harmony of the brain. Since I know jackshit about neurology or any other science really I'm kinda hoping that somebody can confirm or dismiss this theory. Thanks :)
