It is okay to stutter. Please do not be ashamed of being a stutterer. Stuttering is a disability (even though not classified as one usually) but it does not make you any less of a person. With that being said, stuttering does impact the quality of life. The most useful way to overcome that would be to try speech language pathology. Beyond that, don't be isolated. It might be difficult to make friends as a stutterer, but remember that people will want to be your friend because they like you. It is not that they do will not want to be your friend because you stutter. If it seems a bit daunting to go out and make friends, then maybe start with /r/penpals.
