I just started a new job yesterday, and I had to meet so many new people, which unfortunately brought up the dreaded question of what's your name? I had about 40% success, meaning that it only took 1 or 2 seconds to say it, but I had to just come clean to a few about having problems with my speech because the block was dragging on for an unbearable amount of time. It's actually a relief after the initial crushing embarrassment because it means that you don't have to hide it, which is really hard to do. Thankfully, everyone was very nice and understanding, but I've had all the remarks, like "have you forgotten name?" It's a terrible feeling, but it's just something that every stutterer/stammerer has to deal with. Thanks for the advice 👍
