Instead of getting rejected for my speech, I can get rejected for my incompetence / personality! /s I always find this interesting. Stuttering almost certainly does increase the number of job rejections, which is frustrating and unfair. But it also offers some amount of "ego protection" for how you rationalize the rejection. If they're not rejecting you because of speech, that means they're just rejecting you for...you.
