You ever watch G.I. Joe cartoons when you were a kid, knowing is half the battle, then you gotta figure out how many other factors go into it. At some point it may go exponentially which is why some suggest catching it early and diagnosing symptoms is an easy solution. I grew up in the environment where the way I was talking wasn't right, had I grew up with a southern draw on my voice things may have turned out differently who knows.... What's relevant is that the accent the speech therapists were pushing me into felt like I would be made fun of more than what my stutter was being made fun of, different times different environments.
