When me and my girl first got together in 2015 i was naturally nervous every time we spoke because I’m just a lanky stuttering nerd talking to literal goddess, so I would stutter quite a lot, and I hated myself for it every time I would block or stutter at all it felt like I was stuttering for 10 minutes at a time. I would be so embarrassed and feel ashamed for it. In 2016 we were about to celebrate 1 year together and she was at my house for a Christmas party, me and my family just started casually talking about my stutter. Afterwards my girl asked me if I had a stutter to which I replied, “Yes?” She GENUINELY didn’t even know that I had a stutter. She didn’t notice it at all. And there I was stressed out about it for a whole year! That really opened my eyes to how critical I was being with myself and made me loosen up a bit! So to answer your question: Yes, I think after while you just adjust to someone’s speech patterns and it just becomes normal!
