When people think I’m messing with them

When people think I’m messing with them So sometimes when I meet a new person that my friend knows or someone walks to the front desk (I work at a front desk at gym) people would think I’m f*king with them. So they either: - laugh as if I joked, - Think I’m making fun of them if they slightly stuttered - Or start stuttering back as a joke Has this ever happened to yall?
