I think the are two sides to whether this is good practice or not. On the hand, experiencing the reactions a PWS has from other people in the community is an awesome way to start understanding some of the negative feelings we get from other people, and will help to develop some empathy around what we go through. On the other hand, this exercise misses a HUGE part of having a stutter - the anxiety, possible depression, panic, loneliness, difficulty in making friends - all of these are long-term effects of the stutter, where the internal mental consequences are not going to be felt by a training SLP. Overall, I don't think there is any type of training where someone could pretend to be different in a way they're not that could fully portray the difficulties that a condition comes with.
