Reading outloud has its place if you do it right but I find most mainstream or therapy ways they teach you to practice reading out loud so you can "practice saying words fluently" so that maybe it can get engrained into your subconscious. But the truth is, who you are when you are alone in a room by yourself and who you are when you're at work or school, is 2 different versions. I personally never felt like reading outloud fluently ever translated to real life interactions (if it did, it was very temporary) I have some different ways I have read out loud that translates into real life interactions. But overall if you are serious about making progress, reading out loud is not the lone and behold golden trick. It's a nice addition (if you do it right) but there is much bigger levers to pull to see real change.
