Oh everyone takes the time to hear me out. But the point is I can't make a quick, humourous, remark, and it's obvious that they're often uncomfortable and unsure what to do when talking to me. Many times I make an attempt at humour, but my stutter ruins the one and pacing to the point that the humour is totally lost, and the remark is taken as being fully serious, which can land me in awkward situations of having to explain myself. When everyone is talking and laughing as a group, and I see an opportunity, I decide to jump in with a comment. Instantly the smiles and the laughs stop. Everyone is just sat there, patiently waiting for a comment where all the humour is stripped away. Makes it really hard to feel part of a group, when any attempt to participate brings the group to a grinding halt.
