My stuttering worsened after high school so your story reminds me of myself. When a person starts talking slowly to me, I let them know that I have a speaking problem not a hearing problem. More importantly, these people who tease you are are not worth your time. There are plenty of nice people out there who are empathetic and understanding. During these moments when I felt down, I reached out to my family (brother and parents) and it helped me cope with the situation. Several of my colleagues, professors, physicians, were people who stutter and stuttering definitely has no bearing on intelligence. Experiencing this hardship will help you empathize with those who are undergoing difficulty in life You are a strong person. Hang in there :)
