Yeah it fucking sucks. I’m lucky enough in some aspects of life, managed to get to up to a good career in creative(not as much speaking). However there is always a side to me that wonders if I was never cursed with this voice I’d be actually happier and in a different life. I think you touched on my key frustration with it. It’s a debilitating thing that very few people respect, and most view it as a weakness or something that happens when you’re ‘nervous’. I went to speech therapy as a child and I’ll never forget my teacher explaining part of the hurdles with things like stuttering. It’s joked about to your face or brushed aside as you being a little nervous to speak or shy.
