Hey, I’m 30M and from the UK. You didn’t mention where you were from but my advice would be to go to your GP and see if they can refer you to a speech therapist. I did this when I was 19, they referred me to a 3 week self-help course. The course turned out to be group therapy and, honestly, one of the best times of my life. It wasn’t necessarily the stuff the tutors taught, more, the other stammerers; Knowing I wasn’t alone and to hear their experiences was amazing. The confidence I gained during that course got me my first job (Telephone support no less!) and just set my life in the right direction. I’m 30 now - still single, still socially anxious, still technically have a stammer. But, f*ck it, I’m enjoying life and looking forward to what what else it will throw at me! I’m now therapist but if you need someone to talk feel free to message me 🙂.
