Involuntary Arm movement when stuck Like most people, my girlfriend is overwhelmed by her stutter. She doesn't speak much to strangers or in public. She's been wearing a mask to cover mouth because she feels embarrassed that her mouth would twitch/stick her tongue out/and occasionally spit when speaking. And recently when she's having a particularly difficult time speaking her arms/hands would shake/flap involuntary when stuck on a work (this happened she was younger and thought she "outgrown" it). Is this arm/hand shaking when stuck on a word/stuttering common? Also, what are some advice to cheer a person who stutters up. I'm trying to make her smile, laugh, we're making Sunday dinner together now and I want to make her feel great - any advice, guys? :)
