I'm a chemist and run a small inorganic QC laboratory. I oversee technicians so I'm talking all throughout the day with them along with the people in production and management. It can be stressful but I feel like this experience has helped to reduce my fear of speaking over time. Though I definitely still appreciate the rare small pocket of alone time where I can work in silence.
