I edited it for clarification. Also, read my post explaining it in more detail. But ultimately, before I allowed others to hear my repetitions, I did tons of hiding and had literally written my resignation letter for a job I otherwise loved. After I started practicing with brief boundary repetitions, my impactful blocking began vanishing. It’s been over 2 years, and, as long as I continue to practice good habits, the results just get easier over. Everyone who speaks occasionally has repetitions. It’s a problem for us because they are more frequent, extensive and eventually, the fear of rejection leads to even more impactful speech patterns and secondary behaviors.
