The way I view it is that stuttering can be managed. Some use therapy to learn and practice ways to stutter with less struggle. Big blocks can feel (and look!) uncomfortable so learning how to ease up on tension helps one “stutter easier.” It is possible to stutter with less struggle. I always tried SO hard to not stutter, I would stutter more. Now I’m more comfortable with “I stutter, so I’m going to stutter.” When I just talk with no force or tension, I’m able to say what I want, regardless if I stutter. That’s what I mean by managing stuttering. We can learn to “stutter fluently!”
