Ah, okay if the person said that don't take it personally. It just means he or she didn't see you as a fit, and so I would just treat it like the job wasn't a fit for me either. Find a job that isn't based solely on speaking. It's near impossible to find a job that doesn't require speaking at all (I can only think of factory ones...) but there are plenty jobs that don't rely on it as heavily as others. To name a few off the top of my head...sign-language specialists, document editors, programmers, singers, drivers/pilots, postal service (to some extent), zoologist. You can also spend some money and get a career coach, they may be able to help you get your foot in the door.
